Implementation of Program

The language of the training is English. The training will be conducted over four days at Piri Reis University Maritime Campus. Each day will consist of two sessions: the first session will be held between 09:00–11:00, and the second session will be held between 11:30–13:30. At the end of the training, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Course Objectives

To explain Maritime Zones Under National Jurisdiction within the framework of the law of the sea and to provide information on recent developments by addressing contemporary issues in these areas.

Participant Features

Officials from public institutions and organizations dealing with Maritime Zones Under National Jurisdiction, university faculty members, lawyers from maritime law firms, bar associations, maritime company personnel, captains and engineers, and university students.

Syllabus

On 6–7–8–9 April 2026, the topics to be covered in the 1st and 2nd sessions respectively are as follows:

* Maritime Zones Under National Sovereignty or Jurisdiction
Baselines and Interior Waters, Territorial Sea, Contiguous Zone, Exclusive Economic Zone, Continental Shelf

* Maritime Zones Under National Jurisdiction with Special Regimes
Archipelagic States, International Straights

* Maritime Zones Under International Regime
High Sea as Res Nullius, with an analysis of the BBNJ, International Seabed Area as Res Communius

* Major Contemporary Issues in Law of the Sea
Maritime Delimitation: Applicable Law and Jurisprudence, Major Maritime Crimes and their Repression Under International Law

* Meeting with Prof. Dr. Maurice Kamga (for interested participants)
