The Principles of Motor Yacht Design

The online (zoom) course will last for 12 hours, with 4-hour sessions scheduled on weekdays between 19.00 and 22.15, for three consecutive days. Lessons last 45 minutes, with five-minute breaks in between. Participants will be given a Certificate of Participation at the end of the course.

The objective of this course is to present the principle approaches to yacht design process, current and future issues impacting on yacht design and to address the issues that are relevant to the process of designing a motor yacht for the client.

Yacht designers, naval architects and marine engineers, constructers (yacht builders/shipyards), scientists (universities), relevant industries (including all the sub- contractors), and procurement executives, yacht builders etc.

Day 1:

a. The type of motor yachts
b. The procedures used to translate the initial requirements of the client’s into an operational motor yacht.

Day 2:

c. The nature and the phases of a motor yacht design process; the stages of yacht design and describe, in general terms, the progressing from developing the style of a yacht (concept studies) up to the interior design, exterior design, and engineering design of a motor yacht
d. Managing yacht design
