Bridge Resource Management (BRM) Refresher Training

1st Day – Theoretical Training: 09:00–16:45
2nd Day – Practical Training (Execution of 4 Scenarios on the Bridge Simulator): 09:00–15:30
3rd Day – Practical Training (Execution of the Other 4 Scenarios on the Bridge Simulator): 09:00–15:30

Each lesson hour is 45 minutes, with 5-minute breaks in between.
At the end of the training, participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation.”

To develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for the effective allocation and prioritization of bridge resources, efficient communication, self-confidence and leadership, establishing and maintaining situational awareness, and taking the team’s experience into consideration.

Oceangoing Captains, Oceangoing First Officers, Oceangoing Deck Officers, Captains, First Officers, Deck Officers, Limited Captains and Deck Officers.

Day 1 – Theoretical (BRM Refresher Training):
This training aims to improve navigational skills, including the preparation of voyage plans and simulation exercises. Topics covered include navigation in narrow and restricted waters, squat effect, bank and channel effects, and BRM subjects such as fault/error chain analysis, situational awareness, Master–Crew–Pilot relations, bridge organization, leadership, communication, emergency procedures, crisis management, stress and fatigue, decision-making, and effective teamwork.

Days 2 and 3 – Scenario Applications:
A total of 8 scenarios will be conducted: 4 on the second day and 4 on the third day. A briefing will be held before each scenario, followed by a debriefing (record-and-replay) session afterwards.
