Ship Handling and Manoeuvring

The course will last for 16 hours, with 8-hour sessions scheduled on weekdays between 09.00 and 17.00, for two consecutive days, and conducted by face to face. Lessons last 45 minutes, with five-minute breaks in between. Participants will be given a Certificate of Participation at the end of the course.

To learn effective ship handling procedures with this ship handling course and in this context; to carry out exercises include coastal passages, landfalls, pilotage and navigational emergencies in our full mission ship simulator.

Day 1 (Theoretical)-09.00-17.00 (8h)
Situational Awareness, Bridge Adaptation, General Manoeuvring Principles, Pivot Point, Resistances, Turning Circle, Power Sources, Mooring, Coming Alongside, Using Tugboat for Manoeuvring, Narrow Channel Navigation, Current, Shallow Water and Bank Effects, Squat Effect, Emergencies.

Day 2 (Bridge Simulator)-09.00-17.00 (8h)
Within the scope of selected scenarios and features of the sample ship; execution of the topics focused on the first day in the bridge simulator.
