Implementation of Program

The theoretical sessions are scheduled for 5 weekdays, with 4 class hours per day, from 19:00 to 22:15, totaling 20 class hours. The theoretical classes will be conducted via the Zoom platform. Each class hour consists of 45 minutes, with 5-minute breaks between sessions. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.

Course Objectives

To provide participants with a practical understanding of integrated Risk Management and Contract Management in shipbuilding projects, enabling them to identify, assess, mitigate, and manage contractual, technical, and project risks effectively.

Participant Features

Graduates of any engineering department from universities in Turkey or abroad – holding at least a bachelor’s degree (BSc). All personnel working in shipbuilding activities in shipyards/workshops in Turkey and abroad. University students studying in engineering faculties.

Syllabus

Day 1, Theoretical 4h-19.00-22.15

* Elements of the risk management process
* Identification and classification of contractual risks in shipbuilding projects
* 4W1H (who, where, when, why, how?) questions to ask to manage risks in shipbuilding projects

Day 2, Theoretical 4h-19.00-22.15

* A systematic approach to contract-based risk management in shipbuilding projects; ‘Risk management’ activities in shipbuilding projects.
* Identification, definition, analysis, classification, and monitoring of potential risks in shipbuilding projects
* Inter-team communication within the scope of ‘risk management’ activities

Day 3, Theoretical 4h-19.00-22.15

* ‘‘Qualitative’’ and ‘‘Quantitative’’ risk analysis in shipbuilding projects

Day 4, Theoretical 4h-19.00-22.15

* “Impact Matrix” method,
* Risks before contract negotiations begin in past projects

Day 5, Theoretical 4h-19.00-22.15

* Risks related to the general structure of the shipbuilding contract

**Risks based on the “Definitions” section of the shipbuilding contract
**Risks associated with the ship(s) to be built
**Financial risks
**Risks related to the ship construction method

**Risks based on other issues in shipbuilding projects

* An effective ‘risk management’ process in shipbuilding projects; Risk sampling. Risk response -‘Risk Logbook’-
* Potential contractual risks learned from past projects. The probability of a risk, its consequences on the project budget, project schedule or ship performance
