Dry Dock Operations Training

If the theoretical courses are delivered face-to-face, they will be conducted on 3 weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00. The courses will be held either on-site, upon request, or in classrooms at the Piri Reis Main Campus (Maritime Campus).

If the courses are delivered via online, they will be conducted using the Zoom platform, in the evenings between 19:00 and 22:05, over a total of 5 days, with 4 hours of instruction per day. Each lesson hour is 45 minutes, with 5-minute breaks between sessions. At the end of the training, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.

To provide personnel working in floating and dry docks at shipyards with fundamental knowledge of these facilities; to teach and reinforce topics including dock preparation and work planning, the procedures to be carried out for vessels scheduled for docking, docking procedures and principles, refloating operations, and occupational health and safety considerations.

Day-2: 09:00-17:00, 8 Class Hours

• Procedures performed during the drydocking
• Measures to be taken to refloat the ship
• Final checks before the departure of the ship from the dry dock
• Procedures to be followed for the next ship docking
• Rules and regulations for dry docking of ships

Day-3: 09:00-12:15, 4 Class Hours

• Occupational Safety Considerations and Case Studies
